YEREVAN, JULY 21, ARMENPRESS. The Church and Clergy are putting efforts in order for the current situation to be resolved peaceful, which has no alternative, Acting Director of the Information Apparatus of the Mother See Father Hambardzum Priest Danielyan told ARMENPRESS, speaking on the current situation in Yerevan.

“We are really sorry and concerned about the unfortunate events in Yerevan, when once again the peaceful life of our people is indignant. Unfortunately, one died and dozens were wounded. We extend condolences to the family of the killed officer, and pray for the comfort of his soul, as well as we wish speedy recovery to the ones who were wounded in the clashes. As you know, a few days ago the Mother See issued an announcement, in which His Holiness and the Congregation of Mother See of Holy Etchmiatsin expressed their deep concern over the created situation and urged for reason and resolving the situation exclusively by peaceful ways. Unfortunately, the urge of the Church, the clergy and others were ignored, the result of which were yesterday’s and the overnight tense atmosphere and clashes.

Once again we urge to maintain vigilance, not to succumb to provocations and avoid new clashes, undesirable developments, which endanger the interest of our nation and state”, he said.
