Creation of more effective anti-hail system discussed at Government

YEREVAN, APRIL 29, ARMENPRESS. A consultation was held in the Government of Armenia led by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on April 29 during which issues related to the creation of more effective anti-hail system were discussed, press service of the Government told Armenpress.

Presenting the research results conducted for that purpose, Minister of Emergency Situations Davit Tonoyan said it is proposed to create an anti-hail complementary system, to install higher effectiveness ensuring missile and network defense in line with the current gas-generator weather.

Based on the research results radar and missile stations deployment map was crated, cost assessment has been done.

As a first stage, Minister Tonoyan proposed to launch a missile defense pilot project in Aragatsotn and Lori provinces within the frames of which it is expected to carry out modernization works of radar stations.

The PM tasked to launch the pilot program, but at the same time to carry out research on effectiveness and cost of network defense system.
