Hovhannes Igityan says closure of OSCE Yerevan Office is part of program adopted by Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, MAY 10, ARMENPRESS. With its actions Azerbaijan always tries to show that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not frozen, Hovhannes Igityan, former chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs said during a discussion on May 10 in Yerevan, reports Armenpress.

“Azerbaijan constantly tries to create tension both in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact. It aims to show that the conflict is not frozen, that it is very dangerous and claims lives”, Igityan said.

He highlighted that with its steps Azerbaijan tries to internationalize its complaint. “The closure of the OSCE Yerevan Office was a part of this program. The Azerbaijani remarks on the closure of Yerevan Office show that they will agree the continuation of the activity of the OSCE Yerevan Office when the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is settled”, he said.

According to him, the closure of the Office was a part of a program adopted by Azerbaijan since the OSCE hinders those countries which have something to hide from the international community and their own public.
