Armenian President introduces French Senate delegation on consequences of Azerbaijani 
aggression

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by Chair of the France-Armenia Friendship Group in the French Senate Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, the Presidential Office said.

In his remarks the President highly valued the addressed statements of France made both during and after the 44-day war, as well as over the latest Azerbaijani attack on Armenia’s sovereign territory. He also highly appreciated the active efforts of France for initiating a session of the UN Security Council during the days of the Azerbaijani aggression.

Gilbert-Luc Devinaz thanked the President for the welcome and stated that France will continue to stand by Armenia and is always expressing its support to the process aimed at peace.

At the request of the members of the delegation, the President presented the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia’s sovereign territory, the targeting of civilian infrastructure. In this context he highlighted the importance of a quick and proper response by the international community.

The French delegation members attached importance to ensuring peace and stability in the region and the plans to expand the relations in different directions. They praised the fact that even in this difficult post-war situation Armenia remains committed to the fundamental principles of democracy.
