YEREVAN, OCTOBER 14, ARMENPRESS.  Independent Armenia needs to create its own encyclopedia. Director and editor-in-chief of the “Armenian Encyclopedia” publishing house Hovhannes Ayvazyan told the journalists on October 14.

“We try to persuade our superiors that it is extremely essential, like the Soviet Armenian Encyclopedia was once created. It can be comprised of 10-15 volumes”, he mentioned.

Director of the “Armenian Encyclopedia” publishing house also added that they plan to publish Armenian encyclopedia of music and encyclopedic dictionary.

“It is already many years that encyclopedic dictionaries are used in Russia and everywhere. I attach great importance to the creation of a similar dictionary”, Hovhannes Ayvazyan informed.

He added that the encyclopedic dictionary will be published in two volumes and will contain 65 thousand terms.
