Armenian Ambassador to Russia highlights operation of visiting consular services

YEREVAN, MARCH 22, ARMENPRESS. In order to make the paperwork of Armenian citizens in the central and eastern parts of Russia, Consuls travel to remote regions from time to time, Ambassador of Armenia to Russia Vardan Toghanyan told reporters on March 22.

“In the central and eastern parts of Russia, Armenian citizens have difficulties in obtaining some documents. In some cases it takes 9 hours for a citizen to get some kind of a document. Therefore we work with the ministry of foreign affairs of Armenia in the direction of opening the institution of visiting consular services. Meaning, Consuls will visit those remote regions for some time in order to carry out work regarding documents”, he said.

According to him, it isn’t planned to open new consulates anytime soon.

According to the Ambassador, he personally will make visits to different parts of Russia, especially to the Ural region.

“Big prospect of economic cooperation exists here, therefore it is very important to display our culture, traditions and opportunities in those areas”, he said.

“We will do what we have done in the past. The Armenian-Russian relations are on a high level in all sectors – military-political, commercial-economic, cultural. Our cooperation is close also in the expert, diplomatic and civil platform”, he added.
